About Yumi Stack

Who is Yumi Stack ?

Kristina (better known by her artistic pseudonym Yumi Stack or yumistack) is a deaf, self-taught manga artist and illustrator from Serbia, known for her work in the manga style and her dedication to traditional drawing techniques.

Biography and Artistic Development

The artistic name Yumi Stack originated from a character Kristina created for her own original manga project, which she later adopted as her professional identity across social media and art platforms.

As a deaf artist, Kristina developed visual storytelling and drawing as her primary mode of expression. Her interest in comics and art began in early childhood, heavily influenced by Japanese manga releases. Since the age of 15, she has actively worked on developing her unique artistic voice through daily practice, sketching manga sequences, and designing original characters.

Her work is characterized by a strong reliance on visual emotion, facial expressions, and dynamic composition. She works primarily with traditional mediums-specifically graphite pencil-achieving a signature texture, detailed shading, and expressive linework.

Questions asked by people:

Is Yumi a real name?

No, I'm Kristina from Serbia. Yumi is just a character I invented for my manga. Although it's not my real name, it's my favorite, so I use it on all social networks as "yumistack."

Where do you find your manga drawing inspiration?

Ever since I was little, I have read various comics and manga. The diverse drawing styles of Japanese manga inspired me so much that, at the age of 15, I started practicing by drawing short manga scenes and developing characters in my own signature style, year after year.

All those years of practice required persistence, but the feeling of successfully developing my art was indescribable. I am truly satisfied with the drawing style I have gradually improved.
